2009 EEAO/NAAEE Auction and Awards Gala

The Environmental Education Association of Oregon (EEAO) is
proud to co-host the Power of
Partnerships auction and awards gala on October 9, 2009 from 6-10pm in Portland, Oregon
at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.
This event will be held in conjunction with the annual North
American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE)
conference in Portland
from October 7-11, 2009. Environmental educators, business
and community leaders, and partners from all over Oregon and the nation will
come together to enjoy delicious food and beverages, engaging exhibits in the
museum and a live and silent auction that showcases fine Oregon products and
services.
The conference theme
is the Power of Partnerships and we
would like to call upon your support as our partners to make both auctions a
rousing success. We are looking for many
interesting items and services that are unique to our region. Proceeds from the auction will be
used to support NAAEE's scholarship program and help make environmental education accessible for
every child in Oregon. As a donor to a nonprofit organization (Tax
ID 93-0669128) your business will be showcased to attendees through our
website, the auction program and through special recognition at the event. We are also offering sponsorship
opportunities NEW!. Businesses that
contribute cash donations will be recognized in ways such as ad space in the awards/auction program, logo and link on EEAO's website, tickets or verbal recognition at the Awards Gala.
A primary mission of EEAO is to advance the role of
environmental education in helping students achieve educational success. Environmental education fosters learning for
change that is essential to the transformation in our thinking, decision-making,
and daily living. So many decisions for the
future depend on our collective ability to apply an integral approach to our
teaching such that students are able to understand the interrelated elements of
sustainable systems; from ecological, economical, and community perspectives.
Attached
you will find a donation form but feel free to consider donating items that are
most representative of your organization or business.
Tickets to the cocktail hour and awards presentation from 6-7pm October 9th, 2009 are $50, which includes a free drink, music by Will West, hob-nobbing with local business people, the 17 award nominees, and the NAAEE and EEAO Board members and a sneak preview of the live auction items - click here to see some of the feature auction items.
